CODA Accreditation Fees: 2026 and 2027 Schedule by Program

CODA's fee schedule covers the Commission on Dental Accreditation's annual program fees, application fees and a short list of additional charges, and it prices 2026 and 2027 side by side. The figures below come from CODA's own PDF (CODA, 2026 and 2027 Fee Schedule, document opened October 3, 2026). Verify current fees with CODA.

What CODA publishes and where

CODA posts one two-page schedule as a PDF, titled 2026 and 2027 Fee Schedule. It prints no effective date or version number beyond that title, so the title is the only dating we can give you. The schedule shows plain numbers, with a dollar sign only on the contact list row. We read the figures as US dollars, which is IHS's reading as of October 3, 2026. CODA also describes how an initial application payment is made on its apply page (CODA, Apply for Accreditation, page opened October 3, 2026).

How the fee structure works

The schedule has four layers. The application fee is priced by program family: one row serves allied and advanced programs together, and two rows cover predoctoral programs, split by United States and International. An annual fee then recurs by discipline, with the predoctoral rows at the top, a lower row for dental laboratory technology, and one common figure for the other nineteen rows. A small administrative fee is stated per program. The last layer is the schedule's Additional Fee block: a focused site visit fee, a privacy policy penalty, a mailing list charge and international site visit costs. The schedule gives none of them a frequency or a trigger.

Recurrence shows in the layout. The application fee sits in its own block, the annual rows and administrative fee are headed as annual, and the rows in the Additional Fee block carry no frequency.

On CODA's apply page, the payment is the gate. The program director cannot file an application in the portal until CODA has received the payment, and CODA does not treat the application process as started until it holds both. Two steps come before that: the program sends an Administrator Verification Sheet so CODA can open the portal, and it mails the payment with an Initial Application Payment Cover Sheet. The page asks programs not to mail the payment until the application is ready to upload. The page states no payment amount.

What the schedule does not include

Reading the schedule

The following is arithmetic on the published figures, not a quote or an estimate of any bill. Adding the application, annual and administrative rows for one year gives these sums.

Those sums assume every row applies in the same year, which the schedule does not state. Comparing columns, the 2027 application fees for allied or advanced and for United States predoctoral are each 4.0 percent above 2026 (750 and 2,970 more). The 2,580 annual rows rise by 110 to 2,690, about 4.3 percent, and the predoctoral United States row rises by 420, about 4.1 percent. The 50 administrative fee, the 6,000 focused site visit fee and the 4,000 penalty do not change between years. Verify current fees with CODA.

Where this fits

This page reads the fee schedule only. For dental schools and for dental assisting, dental hygiene, dental laboratory technology and dental therapy programs, see CODA dental and allied program accreditation. For residencies and fellowships such as general practice residency and the orthodontic and oral surgery programs, see CODA advanced dental education accreditation. Each covers what a fee table cannot.

What this is not

This is not CODA's text and not a quote of any bill. CODA sets and collects its own fees, and your invoice follows CODA's current schedule and its decisions about your program. IHS does not set, collect or negotiate accreditor fees. IHS scopes each engagement after a free introductory call.

Frequently asked questions

Which CODA fees recur every year?

The schedule has an annual program fee for each discipline and a separate annual administrative fee of 50 per program. Both are listed for 2026 and 2027. The application fee is a separate row, and the schedule does not say how the first year's annual fee is timed against it, so ask CODA.

Do predoctoral and allied programs pay the same fees?

No. The schedule lists Predoctoral (United States) at 10,260 a year in 2026 and Dental Laboratory Technology at 1,830, while Dental Assisting, Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy sit at 2,580. Application fees differ too: 74,140 for a United States predoctoral program and 18,540 for an allied or advanced program in 2026. Verify current fees with CODA.

Is there a different schedule for international programs?

Yes, partly. Predoctoral (International) shows a 2026 annual fee of 24,090 and an application fee of 84,260, and a separate block lists consultation fees. The schedule does not define international, so ask CODA. Verify current fees with CODA.

Which fees does CODA list under Additional Fee?

Under Additional Fee the schedule lists a Special Focused Site Visit administrative fee of 6,000 and a Non-compliance Penalty of 4,000 tied to CODA's Privacy and Data Security Policy. A contact distribution list charge and the international site visit charge sit in the same block. The schedule gives no frequency for these and does not say what prompts a focused site visit or a penalty, so ask CODA. Verify current fees with CODA.

Does the fee schedule cover site visit travel?

Only for the international rows. On an international site visit, the program is billed what the visit actually costs, with an administrative fee of 25 percent of total cost added. The schedule shows no travel line for United States programs, so confirm with CODA how visit costs are handled for your program. Verify current fees with CODA.

When does CODA need the application payment?

For an initial application, CODA's apply page says the program director cannot file in the portal until CODA has received the payment, which is mailed with a cover sheet. Portal access is opened earlier, after CODA receives an Administrator Verification Sheet. Page opened October 3, 2026. Confirm current steps with CODA.

Does IHS set or collect CODA fees?

No. CODA sets and collects its own fees, and the program pays CODA directly. IHS scopes each engagement after a free introductory call.
