JRCERT Accreditation Fees: The 2026 and 2027 Schedules

This guide reads JRCERT's published fee schedules line by line: the schedule effective January 1, 2026, and the one effective January 1, 2027. Every figure comes from JRCERT's own PDFs, and nothing here estimates a program's total bill. Verify current fees with JRCERT.

Last reviewed: October 2026.

What JRCERT publishes and where

JRCERT posts two dated fee PDFs: Fee Schedule effective January 1, 2026 (document opened October 3, 2026) and Fee Schedule effective January 1, 2027 (document opened October 3, 2026). A JRCERT news post of November 12, 2025 (page opened October 3, 2026) says the Board approved the 2027 changes, and a Fees for Accreditation Services policy page (page opened October 3, 2026) holds the policy statements.

What changes in the 2027 schedule

IHS compared the two PDFs row by row (documents opened October 3, 2026). The annual fee amounts, the site visit fee, the interim report fee and every other line item above carry the same figures in 2027. Three things differ: the annual invoice date (mid-November), the initial application, and the continuing tiers.

Approved clinical settings2026 continuing fee2027 continuing fee
1 to 4$2,150$2,500
5 to 8$2,515$3,000
9 to 12$2,725$3,500
13 to 19$3,590$3,500
20 to 26$4,295$3,500 at 20, $5,000 from 21
27 to 33$5,005$5,000
34 to 40$6,445$5,000 to 35, $6,000 from 36
41 to 45$7,150$6,000
46 or more$7,865$6,000 to 50, $7,500 from 51
Larger programsNo tier above 46$8,000 at 71 to 100 settings, rising by band to $20,000 above 300, plus $250 for each setting past 300

For an initial application, the 2027 PDF lists a $2,500 AMS portal entry fee and says a difference is invoiced when the self-study report is submitted, based on the settings submitted with it. It states no initial total, so this page gives none. Verify current fees with JRCERT.

How the fee structure works

The fees fall into three groups. The annual fee comes around every calendar year, and inactive accredited programs owe it too. The initial application fee is a single amount in the 2026 schedule, and the 2027 schedule splits it into a portal entry fee and a later invoice. The continuing application fee is invoiced after JRCERT finishes its final review of a reaccreditation self-study. Everything else is an event fee, charged when something happens: a site visit, an interim report, a sponsorship transfer, a new clinical setting or a deadline extension.

Clinical settings drive two lines. The continuing tier follows the number of approved settings. The count matters because the schedule treats geographically separate sites under one institution or sponsor as separate settings, and JRCERT approval has to come before a program places students at any of them. In the 2026 schedule the initial fee already takes in recognition requests for settings submitted with the first self-study report. Once JRCERT has reviewed that report, recognition requests for more settings cost extra, and the schedule's recognition of a clinical setting fee is $250.

The annual fee is prorated in two situations, and both turn on July 1. A new program that earns initial accreditation before July 1 owes the full $2,650 for that year, and one that earns it after July 1 owes half, $1,325. A program that discontinues before July 1 is invoiced half, and one that discontinues on or after July 1 owes the whole amount. The continuing application fee is invoiced by JRCERT after final review, and the annual fee is invoiced on the dates in the tables.

Reading the schedule

These lines are arithmetic on the published figures. They are not a quote of any bill and not an estimate for your program. Verify current fees with JRCERT.

Where this fits

This page covers only what JRCERT charges. For the standards, the self-study, the site visit and how IHS supports a program through them, see JRCERT Radiologic Program Accreditation Consulting, which also summarizes the schedule briefly. The JRCERT accreditation process page (page opened October 3, 2026) sets the six-month self-study window.

Frequently asked questions

What does JRCERT charge every year to keep a program accredited?

The annual fee in the schedule effective January 1, 2026 is $2,650 for a program granting one terminal award, plus $1,076 for each additional terminal award. It is invoiced in late November and due by March 1. The 2027 schedule keeps both amounts and moves the invoice date to mid-November. Verify current fees with JRCERT.

Is the initial application fee the same in the 2026 and 2027 schedules?

No. The 2026 schedule lists one initial application fee of $3,675, which JRCERT collects before it opens AMS portal access. The 2027 schedule lists a $2,500 AMS portal entry fee and says the program is invoiced for a difference when it submits the self-study report, based on the number of clinical settings. The 2027 document states no total, so ask JRCERT which schedule applies to your application date. Verify current fees with JRCERT.

What does JRCERT charge for a site visit?

The fixed fee is $1,200 per site visitor, due before the visit, in both schedules. That fee is in place of airfare and meals for the team. The program handles and pays for visitor lodging and ground transport itself. Verify current fees with JRCERT.

What happens if we pay a JRCERT invoice late or skip a required request?

Both schedules add a 20% surcharge to an invoice that is still unpaid 60 days after its date. Each also lists a $500 fine for using a clinical setting JRCERT has not recognized, and a separate $500 fine for implementing a substantive change without telling JRCERT first. On its fee policy page, JRCERT ties accreditation status to staying current on fees, and a program in arrears is placed on Administrative Probationary Accreditation. Verify current fees with JRCERT.

How much does an extension of a self-study deadline cost?

Both schedules price an extension at $300 for each 30 days, and the request needs the signature of the institution's President or CEO. The schedule's own examples run $300 for 30 days and $600 for 60, while the fee policy page ties the fee and signature to extensions longer than 30 days, so ask JRCERT how a short extension is billed. JRCERT's process page puts the timing on the program: ask before the deadline passes or the AMS portal is closed to you, and a fee may apply. Arithmetic on the published figure: 120 days is four units, or $1,200. Verify current fees with JRCERT.

Does IHS set or collect JRCERT fees?

No. JRCERT sets and invoices its own fees, and your program pays JRCERT directly. IHS scopes each engagement after a free introductory call.
