Federal items in the IHS change log, by the numbers: November 1, 2026 to November 5, 2026

IHS's change log recorded 9 federal items in 5 days: 8 from CMS, 1 from SAMHSA. Each links to its source page, opened November 6, 2026.

From November 1, 2026 to November 5, 2026, the IHS change log recorded 9 federal items that map to an IHS service line: 8 from CMS, 1 from SAMHSA. Every item below links to its source page, either an agency page or the Federal Register issue on govinfo.gov, and we opened each of those pages on November 6, 2026.

How the count was made

The change log is IHS's record of federal rules, notices, transmittals, survey memos, press releases and agency newsletter items, read from the agencies' sites and the Federal Register issues on govinfo.gov. Its automated daily run began on October 3, 2026. The log keeps only items that map to an IHS service line, so it holds a subset of what the agencies published. An item is counted once, on the date shown on the agency's page or Federal Register issue; log entries for the same page and title are merged. CMS sometimes runs one announcement as a press release and again as an MLN Connects newsletter item. When the newsletter item links to a press release that is in the log, the two are one announcement: it is counted once, on the press release date, and the newsletter item is left out. In this window, 2 newsletter items were left out that way, 1 of them because the linked press release is dated before this window and is not counted here. Topic tags are IHS's, and one item can carry more than one tag, so the topic counts add up to more than 9.

What this is not

This is a count of the items in the IHS change log, not of everything the agencies published, and not a judgment of what any item requires of a given organization. Read the agency's page for the text that applies. For the running list, see the IHS standards-change page at https://www.integralhs.com/insights/changes.
