Federal items in the IHS change log, by the numbers: September 21 to October 2, 2026

IHS's change log recorded 21 federal items in two weeks: 17 from CMS, 3 from HRSA and 1 from SAMHSA. Each links to its source page, opened October 3, 2026.

From September 21 to October 2, 2026, the IHS change log recorded 21 federal items that map to an IHS service line. CMS issued 17 of them, HRSA 3 and SAMHSA 1. Every item below links to its source page, either an agency page or the Federal Register issue on govinfo.gov, and we opened each of those pages on October 3, 2026.

How the count was made

The change log is IHS's record of federal rules, notices, transmittals, survey memos, press releases and agency newsletter items, read from the agencies' sites and the Federal Register issues on govinfo.gov. Its automated daily run began on October 3, 2026. The log keeps only items that map to an IHS service line, so it holds a subset of what the agencies published. An item is counted once, on the date shown on the agency's page or Federal Register issue. A single newsletter issue can carry several items, so the 21 items come from 16 distinct pages. Topic tags are IHS's, and one item can carry more than one tag, so the topic counts add up to more than 21.

Two earlier CMS items from June 16, 2026 sit in the same log under IHS's accreditation and deeming tag: Publication of the Strengthening Oversight of Accrediting Organizations (AOs) (CMS-3367-FC) Final Rule with Comment Period (QSO-26-10-[ALL]), https://www.cms.gov/medicare/health-safety-standards/quality-safety-oversight-general-information/policy-memos/policy-memos-states-cms-locations/publication-strengthening-oversight-accrediting-organizations-aos-cms-3367-fc-final-rule-comment; Medicare Program; Strengthening Oversight of Accrediting Organizations (AOs) and Preventing AO Conflicts of Interest, and Related Provisions (Final rule with comment period; FR Doc. 2026-12069), https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/FR-2026-06-16/html/2026-12069.htm. They fall outside the two-week window and are not counted above. Both pages were opened on October 3, 2026. The log holds no other items dated before September 21.

What this is not

This is a count of the items in the IHS change log, not of everything the agencies published, and not a judgment of what any item requires of a given organization. Read the agency's page for the text that applies. For the running list, see the IHS standards-change page at https://www.integralhs.com/insights/changes.
